In 2025 we are taking you back to the grass roots farming community of Mount Pleasant, with good old fashioned hospitality and a true sense of family. Building on the core values of the AHCS, education and fellowship is the main focus of the 2025 National Show. Friday will be dedicated to education and show practice, with participation from local agricultural schools. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the highland breed, and showcase their parading skills in a schools only Parader Workshop. We encourage all to grab some lunch and take the time to watch students in action, as many of these kids will have been handling and parading animals for a number of years. See the schedule on page 3 for a full schedule of the days activities.
Saturday we are introducing additional classes for Graded Females and Market Steers, to be judged along with the Highland Steers. We hope the addition of these classes will allow more people to exhibit their animals and increase participation at the show. Details of the classes can be found in the Class Schedule on page 9 and in the 2025 AHCS Show Rules & Information pages from page 15. The Paraders and Junior Judging Classes will also be judged on Saturday, along with the calf and Costume Classic classes.
Sunday will open with the stirring sounds of bagpipes filling the air, setting the stage for the judging of Stud Classes. Family, friends and highland enthusiasts from around the world can enjoy both Saturday and Sunday judging via a live stream.
The Mount Pleasant Farmers Markets will be held Saturday morning, bringing a large group of regular attendees to the showgrounds.
There are catered social functions for all exhibitors, helpers and volunteers all located within walking distance of the showground. Please RSVP using the online entry form by the deadline to assist us with catering.
We warmly invite all newcomers and novices interested in showing their own cattle, or those looking to get involved in the cattle showing world, to step up and join us at the Show. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn and time to practice your ringcraft before Sunday’s event. The Highland show community is incredibly supportive and always ready to offer a helping hand when needed. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us in advance if you need assistance—we’re here to help!
